Fashion is never gendered biased when it comes to Germans, as there is a ratio when it comes to women. In Germany, women wear pants. The pants/skirt sales ratio is 75-80 percent versus 20-25 percent, which is much higher than many countries put together.


One more factor is, Germans are more price sensitive. Despite the most profitable European country with the GDP capita ( 39,500 Euros), the annual spending on clothes for a person is less than that of the neighboring countries. If you look at the stats, Germans spend 700 Euros annually compared to 843 Euros in Italy and 1,133 Euros in the UK.


 The German market also prices sensitive, thanks to its valued citizens. Based on the study conducted by HML Marketing, only 40% of the German men and women spend an average of 290 Euros on just fashion.


For many decades now, H&M has been the real deal in Germany. Many say that smaller companies tied up with H&M to gain some profits from Germany.


 


Brands must also consider expanding themselves outside different cities. There is such a big difference when it is compared to France because 20% of the population lives in the Paris metropolitan area- the fashion capital in the world.


Germans have always been pretty eager online shoppers, with close to 70% of the men consider themselves safer in buying clothes online- the fourth-highest compared to the UK, Denmark, and the Netherlands.


 


When it comes to e-commerce, Germans have always had the idea of expecting more. They are so used to the olden day’s tradition of the mail order, so they are much more used to that when it comes to fashion shopping as well. Germans always abide by the rules, and they take the written warning a little too seriously. Germany is comparatively variant from other eCommerce markets in Europe when it comes to online payment. Many German consumers still prefer and always stick to the standard mode of payment, compared to paying it before the delivery.
