AMAZON PRIME NOW INCLUDES FREE LIVE TV IN GERMANY
Say Hurray! For all Amazon Prime members in Germany, it is a golden opportunity to utilize the excellent service offered by Amazon. In Germany and many other territories, users can access the Prime Video only through a video-only membership. Amazon has already proved that it is the best streaming service. It has been planning to bolster its Prime Video service with Live TV streaming over the past few years, based on a report from Protocol. Another report says that Amazon has been pursuing licensing deals for live and linear programming. Amazon Prime users can activate their Amazon Prime Membership and obtain free access to live TV. This opportunity is now available for Amazon Prime customers in Germany. In other countries like the United States, Amazon offers Amazon Channels. There is no additional cost for Broadband TV News reports and live TV. The linear TV package consists of 38 channels from public broadcasters ARD & ZDF and among them, 28 are HD channels, based on the reports from German media InfoDigital magazine.
The HD channels include Das Erste, KiKA, rbb, MDR, SWR, BR Fernsehen, hr-Fernsehen, ARD-alpha, tagesschau24, ARTE, 3sat, ONE, ZDFneo, and NDR Fernsehen. However, the Amazon Prime customers in Germany have to complete free activations as soon as possible to make use of the free package. Once activated, the channels will be available via Amazon Prime Video app on Fire TV Stick, iOS, Android, smart TVs, Apple TV, and Fire TV. If you have not installed the Amazon Prime app, download it from the Apple App Store if you are using Apple TV. Otherwise, download it directly from the Google Play Store if you are using an Android TV.
In Germany, Prime Video is available on a monthly subscription of €7.99 per month. This service was previously available in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden in 2012 and was discontinued in 2013.
Channels like WDR Fernsehen Aachen, WDR Fernsehen Bonn, WDR Fernsehen Bielefeld, WDR Fernsehen Dusseldorf, WDR Fernsehen Dortmund, WDR Fernsehen Munister, WDR Fernsehen Siegen, WDR Fernsehen Duisburg, WDR Fernsehen Essen, and WDR Fernsehen Wuppertal are offered in SD resolution by Amazon. It has also registered its services in live events, streaming NFL football, Yankees games, soccer, and tennis. Last week, Amazon announced that it would start a streaming Premier League soccer. It also offered NFL Thursday Night Football games on Prime Video. This sudden offer will be applicable only for the German citizens having the Amazon Prime membership.
Meanwhile, it seems that Amazon wants more subscribers to use its service. With the handful of cable channels that can be added to the Prime subscription for free, Amazon makes its video service more attracting and appealing by offering more traditional channels with no additional cost. It also includes Epix, Showtime, and Startz for free with new offers.
