German Retailers Divided Over Black Friday Shopping Frenzy

People do not celebrate thanksgiving in European nations like France, Russia, and even Germany, but people do love to shop- thanks to Black Friday.

The retail phenomenon of the United States has taken a spread around the world in the past couple of years. This creates a rift or a backlash from some activists, politicians, and consumers alike.

Just because of the Black Friday event, there are climate demonstrators who have blocked the passage to malls and have gathered in the Amazon headquarters to stop the overproduction right in time for Black Friday. Some employees have taken a strike in Germany for a better pay scale. Some people even took the liberty to make sure they hire lawyers to have Black Friday banned.

Some consumers make sure to use Black Friday as a banner to lure the customers in the name of better deals, and they are not as real as they seem to be advertised. This is just a way to make sure the small businesses crash down burning.

A manifesto or a signboard held by some of the German protesters said, "The planet burns, and the rivers are meant to die, and we still want to meet our demands to consume — ... We will definitely not betray our children for a 30% discount!"

It's been quite a hectic time for the people on the online platform for the black Friday sale. This is used as a major run-up for Christmas shopping in Germany. More than a thousand variety of products can go on sale. The business is booming since the holiday has moved from one end of the world to another.

"Black Friday has seen a normal history in Germany in comparison to the 50 years it's been a traditional shopping event in the U.S.," blackfridaysale.de spokesman Albert Haschke.

There has been an interest in the German consumers when it comes to Black Friday over the years. All these are based on Google research. There are close to a 90% population of Germans who really know about thanksgiving, which is much closer to the 98% population of the U.K.

Some market analysts seem to be surprised that such special kinds of sales are becoming a hit in a saturated market like Germany, but they are not keen on the huge discounts that are offered.

It is more realistic than being true that the German market is more saturated than ever, and people can really save a lot right in time for Christmas shopping. Black Friday is more seen as an incentive to the people than a holiday.

Every year the German nation expects a huge chunk of revenue with a turnaround of 2.4 billion Euros, that is roughly 2.74 billion USD. If this is the confirmed amount, it would easily see a spike from the 1.7 billion Euros generated in the 2017 Black Friday event. Ever since online shopping came into the picture, some German consumers do not want their way through huge crowds into retail outlets. One of the Black Friday event's best participants is the fashion company Zalando and the electronics head Ceconomy; it's because of them the Black Friday event has become frenzy in Germany.

With a wide range of promotions, there are a lot of consumers who are opting to be more secure. Here is one open secret; not all goods that go into discounts are genuine products, and it is a universal fact. There was a research conducted by a U.K. consumer which found out that close to 60% of the goods that were advertised last year are cheaper or almost the same price after the Black Friday event.

This was when Russia came into the picture to find out if the product's price has risen a bit higher than the usual right in time before the event. This is helpful not to get fooled easily and a simple con to make the deals look good or whether the delivery cost is inflated.

The Black Friday event is a purely commercial event that is only set to boost the U.S. retailers because they are the ones to benefit the most, right ahead of the Christmas holidays.
